I hope everyone is doing okay and you are blessed of the Lord.  I know we are living through some pretty crazy times right now.  I want to start by reminding you that our God is STILL ON THE THRONE!  And while we are navigating through all this madness, He is walking through it with us.  Be encouraged that while it may feel you are quite isolated, you are not alone!

I have been communicating with our leaders as to what Westlake Fellowship is going to look like the next few weeks.  Because things are changing daily, I wanted to wait until the end of the week to make any final decisions.  On Monday, our county officials asked that we limit meeting sizes to 50 people.  Then, by Wed. they were asking that we limit meeting sizes to no more than 10. Then, on Thursday, our Governor signed an executive order prohibiting any meeting over 10 people through April 3rd.  While our leadership had pretty much come to the decision to only do an online service for the next couple of weeks, Governor Abbot’s executive order sealed the deal.

So, for this Sunday March 22nd and next Sunday March 29th, we will only be meeting for church ONLINE!  Technology has afforded us the ability to do some pretty amazing things and one of those is the ability to gather together online. In order to make our live feed available to everyone, we will be streaming on several different platforms.  As always we will stream on Facebook for those who use that form of social media.  We will also stream on YouTube which will make it possible for those not on Facebook to participate.  I believe we have the ability to stream on one other platform as well.  We will follow up this email with the links and instructions for you to watch the different steaming options.

In addition to our weekly live streams, my plan is to be posting regular online content over the next few weeks to encourage you and your family during this time. We will be checking up on everyone from time to time to see how you are doing.  I want to challenge each of you to do the same.  Phone calls, texts, emails, etc. are all great ways to stay connected right now.  Also, it allows us to know if anyone in our church community is in need of anything.  If you know of anyone in our church body that is in need of anything, please let us know so that we can help to meet that need as soon as possible.

God’s instructions for us to “assemble together” is so much larger than a weekly meeting on a Sunday morning. It’s a call to community.  It’s about leaning on one another, encouraging one another, and supporting one another.  So, while we will be unable to truly “gather together” for at least the next couple weeks, let’s continue to “assemble together” in this manner.

Please understand that you can continue to give your tithes and offerings during this time by utilizing online giving at westlakegive.org or by texting to give by texting an amount to 84321 then selecting Westlake Fellowship.  Please note that if you choose westlakegive.org as your way to give, there is an option that minimizes the amount of fees we have to pay.  If you choose the option “add bank account” the fee is only a flat $0.25.  Your gift will be in the form of an e-check or ACH in banking terms.  If you use the option “add debit/credit card” our fees are 2.15% of the total amount + an additional $0.30.  So, while either option is available to you, please note that if you are comfortable with the “add bank account option” we pay only $0.25 per transaction. If online giving is not something you are comfortable with, of course you can mail in your gifts to Westlake FellowshipPO Box 688Montgomery, TX 77356

I already know of some who are losing hours at work and as a result missing paychecks.  Let’s be praying for those individuals and helping in any way we can.  During this season we will try to communicate often to keep you updated on everything.  While I know that this is a huge inconvenience, look for the opportunities it affords us.  For most, it allows us a time to slow down a bit.  It also allows for more family time.  I know it’s crazy out there right now, but remember that as “the church” we are carriers of His peace, hope, and healing!.

The Lord bless you and keep you.  Make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.  The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace!!!
